October/November Photo Dump

Hey guys! So so so sorry I have been pretty MIA for the past month or so...I have a big surprise in the works so get ready! Today I will be doing another photo dump. This will have pictures from October to now. Hope you enjoy!

Brayden and I both drew Deer tags this year so these two pictures are from out hunt. Brayden got a 3x4 a few days into the hunt. I unfortunately did not get anything this year - BOOO! The buck to do ratio was like 200 to 1. It was the crappiest year! They gave out way too many tags too so it was like a city on the mountain.

This picture is the receptionist team at my work, doTERRA International. Almost everyone dressed up, it was so fun! We had the food trucks come for lunch and families come trick-or-treat.

For my Halloween makeup I did a half face normal half face skull! It turned out awesome!!

Later Halloween night we went over to my sisters friends house for a Murder Mystery party. It was really fun!

Brayden and I (try) to go to Mesquite NV every year for his little brothers football tournements. We.We went two years ago, skipped a year, and than went this year. It was really fun, but unfortunately I have no pictures from it. Weird right? Addie take NO pictures - never happens. Brayden, his dad, stepmom, and grandpa gambled while I got kicked out for not being 21. Whoop whoop party right? Haha!

The following weekend we went up to Park City UT with Brayden's cousin and her boyfriend. The trip was a wonderful disaster. It was suppose to snow that weekend back home so Brayden had to leave his truck for his dad to snowplow if needed, which left us with my car. My car is gutless and absolutely sucks in the snow and since the roads were bad and it was suppose to snow all night we ended up taking Brayden's grandmas jeep...which was amazing! Makes me want a new big car even worse. We ate at lots of yummy restaurants, got good dessert, did some Christmas shopping at the outlets, and had the worst hotel in the world. Haha! We purchased our room off of Groupon and it looked amazing, right at the head of the ski lifts too. The hotel was a dump and so unorganized. The boys went and checked us in then we parked and pulled all the stuff out of the cars. We spent like 10 minutes trying to find how to get into the hotel because no one told us where to go, just where to park. This sounds silly, but it was like on top of tons of shops, and the ski lodge entrance/lifts. We finally asked a lady for help and found our room. We got to the door and it said ###A/###B we were a bit confused but opened it with our key. Inside there was a little mud room that had like ski/coat racks and two doors ###A and ###B. We could hear people inside both of the rooms, so we all started laughing and this couple opens the door. They said they had just checked in, at this point the other door opens and we all just start laughing and talking while one of the girls calls the front desk from the room phone. They apologize and come get us from that room and take us to another. The other room was horrible.... The walls had recently been stained and it STUNK! We were all getting upset at this point because the room was nothing like the pictures, it was the size of a box (for 4 people), it stunk, it was dirty, and than the bomb hit....There was no cable TV or DVD player. The boys flipped because they wanted to watch football. We call the front desk and they send a tech up to help us...30 minutes later they decide to just switch us rooms. We threw a fit, well they made me throw a fit, guess I am the feisty one haha. We were about ready to go find a new hotel when they told us they would upgrade us to a bigger room. It was one of the ###A/###B rooms with the doors open so a connected two room area. After we moved for the 3rd time, everything turned out okay and the weekend went off with a bang!

 ^^ Devanza's for lunch - YUM!
^^ Park City Main Street - so pretty!
^^ 8+ inches of snow in one night!

iPod Shuffle October

Music is constantly changing throughout time, it is inevitable. It is crazy to look back on the
music I enjoyed throughout jr. high and high school, and realize how 'old and outdated' it
is now. I have always found it easier to use Pandora or Spotify for my music, instead of
buying songs. The reason why I like that so much, is because by the time I would get
myself to buy a CD/Song it was already almost "done". With Spotify and Pandora I can
listen to whatever music, whenever I want. The Top Tracks playlist also keeps me hip and
cool, knowing what the new music is. Haha!

Today at work I had my phone plugged in and was listening to the songs in alphabetical
order. A lot of fun new songs came on, but there was a couple blasts from the past
songs too. I only have 82, yes really 82, songs on my phone for when I am out of service
and can't use my Spotify or Pandora app. Lets play the shuffle game, and see what tracks
are played for the first 10 songs.

1- Who Booty (by) John Hart (HAHA yuck!)
2- Everytime We Touch (by) Cascada (Techno days I guess)
3- 19 You + Me (by) Dan + Shay (love this song)
4- The Real Slim Shady (by) Eminem (my sister would be laughing right now)
5- See You Tonight (by) Scotty McCreery (what a babe!)
6- Bleed It Out (by) Linkin Park (booooring)
7- You Don't Know Jack (by) Luke Bryan (love this song)
8- Play It Again (by) Luke Bryan (may have listened to this one 3 times)
9- Hero (by) Skillet (hmmm... haha)
10- Bottoms Up (by) Brantley Gilbert (just saw this live in July 2014)

Wow, what a list. Haha!

This is officially on my pet want list!

You are convinced, right? (:

September Photo Dump

Lately I have been slacking on sharing pictures from whats been going
on in my life. This post will be tons of pictures from the last few weeks.

Brayden and his brother-in-law, Clancy, playing shuffle board while we were
waiting to be seated at Tucanos. Clancy had just graduated from the Police
Academy so him and his wife, Shantell, were more than happy to meet us
for dinner. Oh, and I had to use my free birthday dinner card. YUM!
For my birthday my sister, Katrina, decided to get us tickets to a concert
that was sure to sell out.. Which it did within a few weeks. The artists at
the show were Blake Shelton, The Band Perry, and Dan + Shay. To be
honest The Band Perry kinda sucked. She was way off pitch, one of her
brothers was acting like a screamo/punk rocker, and the other brother hardly
moved haha. The opener/in-between guy Neil McKoy was awesome! We
had so much fun, and it was the best way to spend my birth-day. I did
miss my B though. (;
My work had a 'food truck roundup' for an employee appreciation lunch
a few weeks back. We enjoyed a nice hamburger, and than waffles for
dessert. Not as good as my moms homemade buttermilk waffles. but it
was good! Pictured above is Peach Cobbler, and S'Mores waffles.
My work recently moved into our brand new corporate headquarters, so for
our annual Convention we hosted a self-guided tour for people to visit our
new facilities. As a receptionist I have a nice little waiting lounge for people, which
was included as a stop on the tour. They gave me a 'helper' to make sure nothing
was taken, broken, and to help traffic go smoothly. One of my good friends, Nikki,
recently got a job at doTERRA and she was able to be with me all day. We took
five million pictures with people, hundreds of selfie's with people, and ate 1/2 our
lunches in 2 hours. It was a blaaaaast. Haha!
This picture was taken at a family wedding. This is Brayden's dad's family and some of
Brayden's siblings. We had taken a few serious photos, but this was the one that turned out
the best. Hilarious huh! Love this wacky, crazy, dysfunctional family!
Some of B's family invited us to go go-kart racing up at the Miller Motor
Sports Park. It was so fun! The go-karts went suprisingly fast, and it was
so funny to watch everyone racing. Of course I came in last/second to last,
kind of a baby, but I was sure proud of my 1:04/0.56 lap times!
OH MY GOSH! For my favorite recent picture.... I GOT MY BABY!!!
Say hello to my brand new Canon 60D / 18-135 mm lens! She was such
a wonderful birthday present to myself/from B. She will be used to take
many many videos and pictures you will see very very soon. B has even
purchased an adapter to hook her onto his Vortex Viper spotting scope for
hunting, I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited about that too.
Here is one of my first photos from the camera. I am totally in love with her.

That's a little bit about life lately over here. I hope you guys enjoyed!

DIY Gel Nails

I have always loved loved loved Acrylic / Gel and Gel nails but hated spending so much money and time at the salon each month. A little over two years ago I decided to get all the stuff I needed to do my own nails. (Fun fact-I even did other peoples nails for a few months, until it got way to time consuming with my full-time job.) Yes, I still go get a pedicure from time to time, but I do my nails pretty much every time myself now. I did not go to school to learn how to do nails, I just taught myself. A step may be 'wrong' in a professional opinion, this is just works for me and what I prefer. Acrylic is a little bit harder to do, and more time consuming so for today I am going to just go over gel nails from start to finish! (Let me know in the comments below if you want an acrylic tutorial and I can post a blog/vlog on it for you later.)

Lets start with the supplies I use... (And yes, as you'll see I purchase 99.5% of all my nail stuff on Amazon. It is the cheapest place to get everything. You can get a 1.5 oz polish for $6-10 online, and in store they want $15 for the same brand/color in a .5 oz. So lame, so seriously avoid your beauty stores overpriced product!)

Salon Edge UV Light $28 Amazon
(comes in white, black, silver, light pink, hot pink)

Replacement Bulbs $6-$10 Amazon
(They go out every 500-700 uses so you'll want to keep them on hand)

Gelish Foundation + Regular Top Coat $25 Amazon

Gelish Matte Top Coat $9 Amazon
(This one looks good sometimes, I don't prefer it on my nails usually.)

OPI PH Bond
.5 oz $7 Amazon
1 oz $15 Amazon
A high grit Buffer / File - Cheapest at my local beauty supply store

Wooden Sticks - 100 count - $2 Amazon

Lint Free Finger Wipes - 200 count - $2 Amazon

Nail Preparation
Push back the cuticles with your wooden stick
Clip off any excess cuticle as needed
Shape your natural nails
Gently remove the shine on the natural nail with a high grit buffer
Wash your hands with soap and dry fully

Painting
Apply the PH bond to the nails and let dry
Apply a thin code of the foundation to the nail, make sure you get all of the edges to seal it
Cure the bond and foundation
Use a wooden stick to remove up and excess polish from around the cuticle or the nail (before you cure it)
Apply thin layers of the polish, again make sure you get all of the edges to seal it
(NOTE: too thick of coats will cause it to not cure properly)
Apply as many coats as needed to get desired look
Apply a thin coat of the top coat, making sure you seal this one really well
Cure the top coat
Your nails will be sticky still at this point. Use non acetone nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol on a lint-free pad to wipe off the stickiness (do not use cotton pads or cotton balls – try using paper towel squares or lint-free pads like shown above)
(NOTE: If the color comes off when removing the tacky surface than the nail did not  cure properly at some point during the process. If that happens, remove that whole nail and start over)
Apply cuticle oil to the skin surrounding the nail
DONE, wahoo! (:

Now let me give you a few tips on the polish I use. I have tried many brands and my favorite seem to be the IBD with Gelish in second place. Here is my review for some other brands...

IBD - $5-10 - Thick (1-2 coats)
Gelish - $10-15 - Thick (2-3 coats)
OPI - $16-30 - Runny (4-6 coats)
Finger Paints - $12-17 - Medium (2-4 coats)
Gelaze - $8-12 - Medium (2-4 coats)

DIY Blonde/Silver Hair Toner

Ok guys, this is something I have been trying to get written out to post for about two weeks now.

Let me just start by saying that I am NOT a professional, I have no hair-school training, and what I did may be completely wrong, but hey it worked for me! (:

Lately I have been getting frustrated that my hair has had so many Yellow Tones in it. I have always liked having really (white ish) blonde hair, so the yellow completely drives me nuts. I don't like highlighting my hair unless its been like three - four months (I don't mind a little grow out. Haha!) so getting it done again wasn't an option for me as it hasn't been more than two months. I upped using my purple shampoo to every other wash, rather than every 3 washes, which still didn't give me the results I wanted.

I went to my local Sallys to browse for some new gel polish's for fall when I saw this Manic Panic hair toner in Virgin Snow White. I just had to try it! Since the bottle was smaller and I didn't want my hair to get dyed straight up white I looked online for things I could add to it.

After what seemed like hours...I decided to add about 1/3-1/2 a cup of cheaper conditioner (any kind would work I'm sure) and about 1/3-1/2 a cup of the Shimmer Lights purple shampoo. With the full bottle of the toner this made the perfect amount to cover my whole head evenly.

I pulled down a little section of hair, applied the mix, and continued to do this until my hair was fully covered. I did pretty small sections (about 6 total) to make sure I got it all the way up to all the roots.

Once it was all finished I pulled it up into a bun and let it sit for about 30 minutes.

I washed my hair very thoroughly to make sure all of the mixture was out, and than I was done!

I am very happy with how it turned out. It was really white/grey ish at first, but after another wash it is the perfect color again. It even toned my grown out roots, which makes it look like its been recently done, win win! I will definitely continue this every month or so in between getting my hair done.

A few pictures from before!

A picture the first time after washing it. You can see its really white/grey here, it really toned down quite a bit after I washed it again.

Here is what it looked like after washing it a few times.

I am so happy with the color and how easy it was to do this. Here is a run down of the cost of the supplies to do this...

Manic Panic Toner - $11
Shimmer Lights - $10-20 (depending on the size)
Conditioner - $3.29
Color Tray - $2.30
Clear Brushes - $.99 each
Gloves - $2.99

Since I have all the supplies to do it already, all I would need next time is the toner, purple shampoo (which I usually keep on hand), and a cheap conditioner. That's pretty darn cheap to keep up!
